SHANGHAI, Apr. 25 (SMM) –Rio Tinto has maintained its 2017 guidance for bauxite, alumina and aluminum production, according to its latest quarterly report.
The company sees its bauxite output at 48-50 million tonnes, alumina output at 8-8.2 million tonnes and aluminum output at 3.5-3.7 million tonnes.
Rio Tinto produced 11.3 million tonnes of bauxite in Q1 2017, up 2% year-on-year, but down 7% quarter-on-quarter, produced 2.05 million tonnes of alumina, unchanged year-on-year, but down 3% quarter-on-quarter, and produced 889,000 tonnes of aluminum, up 2% year-on-year, but down 3% quarter-on-quarter, its quarterly report showed.
